Visitors may type your address with or without www. Both should work.
Option A: A record (recommended)
In your registrar's DNS settings, add a second A record:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Type | A |
| Host / Name | www |
| Value / Points to | the same server IP address you used for @ |
Option B: CNAME record
Some registrars prefer a CNAME for www:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Type | CNAME |
| Host / Name | www |
| Value / Target | example.com (your root domain, with no www) |
Do not create both an A record and a CNAME record for www; choose one.
Make sure www is enabled on the hosting side
When you add a website in your dashboard, the www version is included automatically, so no extra step is needed on our side. If you added the domain before this feature existed, open a support ticket and we will enable it.
Choosing one main address
Search engines treat example.com and www.example.com as different addresses. Pick one as your main address and redirect the other to it. In WordPress this is set under Settings → General. For other sites, add a redirect rule in your .htaccess file or ask our support team for help.
